EAI Technology's solid-state line laser radar GS2 is helping robotic vacuum cleaners enhance their "boundary perception" and excel during shopping festivals

2022-11-02

In the first half of this year, Shenzhen EAI Technology Co., Ltd. (EAI Technology) innovatively launched its first solid-state line lidar, the GS2. Currently, the GS2 has been successfully integrated into several new models of robotic vacuum cleaners launched during online shopping festivals like "Double Eleven" and "Black Friday," both domestically and internationally. This integration enhances the robotic vacuum cleaners' "boundary perception" capability, enabling precise detection and robust performance in various scenarios.

With the approach of online shopping festivals like "Double Eleven" and "Black Friday," the home smart cleaning sector is witnessing a surge in new product releases. Robotic vacuum cleaners continue to capture attention in the realm of smart home appliances, especially driven by the younger generation, including "90s" and "00s," who are increasingly adopting these devices into their lives. In the midst of intensifying competition and growing homogenization, robotic vacuum cleaner brands are focusing on various aspects like navigation, obstacle avoidance, and cleaning capabilities. Those who achieve technological breakthroughs will likely gain a competitive edge in the market.

Shenzhen EAI Technology Co., Ltd. (EAI Technology), as a leading provider of smart sensors and solutions in China, and a nationally recognized "Little Giant" enterprise, has consistently adhered to the strategy of "self-developed chips + algorithm innovation." By establishing core technological advantages, EAI Technology has created a diverse range of smart sensor products and customized solutions for various applications. They also maintain a rapid cycle of iterative upgrades, ensuring continued empowerment for their partners in the industry's value chain.

EAI Technology releases the GS2 solid-state line LiDAR, which is designed for precise real-time detection along walls, effectively identifying small objects. With an ultra-wide field of view (FOV) of 108 degrees, it assists robots in sweeping blind spots. The GS2 offers two wavelength options, 808nm and 850nm, ensuring that detection signals do not interfere with each other, meeting various precise detection needs. Notably, with its highly integrated internal structure, the GS2 achieves a compact and lightweight body, offering both vertical and horizontal mounting options. This versatility enables it to provide more measurement data in the vertical direction, effectively assisting intelligent devices like robotic vacuum cleaners and service robots in tasks such as real-time monitoring along edges, precise identification of small obstacles, measuring passage heights, recognizing overhangs at boundaries, and identifying steps, among other challenging tasks.

Due to its high performance and excellent cost-effectiveness, the GS2 gained recognition and quickly became the preferred choice for assisting detection in robotic vacuum cleaners. It has already undergone extensive mass production testing with numerous domestic and international brand customers. It has also provided strong support for innovative breakthroughs in navigation and obstacle avoidance in robotic vacuum cleaners during this year's shopping festivals.

In addition to its application in robotic vacuum cleaners, the GS2 has found widespread use in various scenarios, including positioning and measurement, robot fall prevention, and robot grasping and positioning.
